I don't get it. Killing someone with a pre-heated fork, especially by making a 'hole where your lungs were'? Please explain more in detail. On the topic of Crossbows and bows, it has a huge yes from me Nothing like killing soldiers with firearms with 'primitive' weapons. One thing about the throwing spear there, I'd like if you could choose to either fight with it or throw it, like when you click 2 for alternate ammunition for guns, instead it would be the alternate 'fire mode' for the spear. I'd also like more tribals, hoho. Here's A bit silly, yes, because it would be too heavy for a man to carry, so. If it had a requirement of 10 Strength, maybe?
And if it was used by super mutant, and/or as a stationary wall defense of some town that has no Browining.50 cals. Like a ballista. Haha.Posts: 3352 Joined: Tue Dec 19, 2006 8:08 pm. I don't get it. Killing someone with a pre-heated fork, especially by making a 'hole where your lungs were'?
Please explain more in detail. The fork is too slow to go through your body as a bullet would, it would stick and stay onto your body. The firer then can pull the fork out along with the flesh now on the fork.
The flesh has now been quick-cooked by the hot fork and the firer can now enjoy a nice piece of meat to go with whatever loot there is.Just ignore it, do what everyone else does and use 'real' bullets.Posts: 3425 Joined: Fri Aug 31, 2007 4:39 pm. There is a.huge. difference between black powder and modern propellants (mostly based on nitrocellulose), the modern propellants being vastly more efficient. Ever notice how ye olde muskets are.50 and.60 caliber and lob giant subsonic bricks of lead, while modern rifles shoot.20 and.30 caliber bullets at Mach 3?
Yeah.i never said that you would use the black powder for modern ammo, but with black powder, weapons can be made. It was just an example of how people just know how to build weapon stuff.Posts: 3487 Joined: Thu Sep 21, 2006 1:17 pm. I wasnt being rude or offensive(no lie) and if i was sorrry.
I was just joking to what you said you know hillbillies trying to act like them.I object to the stereotype that 'hillbillies' or 'rednecks' are uneducated, does having to work hard for independent living and not being able to afford the time or resources for proper schooling put them any lower on the social scale, if you think so than how about you trade places with them, I assure you that you will realize that they don't choose to be uneducated.Posts: 3493 Joined: Fri Jun 22, 2007 12:08 pm. If anyone remembers the Road Warrior, you'll remember how scarce guns and ammo were in a post-apocalyptic world. Some of the characters used crossbows and compound bows in lieu of convential firearms.I always thought that bows would be an interesting weapons' option for those players that want to experiment in something other than guns and energy weapons. What are your thoughts on this?
I'd like to see a developer's input as well.Just a guess, but I'd imagine using a crossbow and/or compound bow would have less DP, so they'd prob require more shots to kill. Maybe that'd be a good option for hardcoe mode?.Posts: 3460 Joined: Thu Oct 11, 2007 3:33 pm. Hey no one mentioned an important aspect of the bow and crossbow. They are pretty damn quite when you fire.Which I think in fallout would be a big deal and why most wasters would carry them. Not that everone is a super sneaky assassin heh, just in this world hunting is probably your main source of food, and theres a pretty good chance if you were poping off rounds from a rifle some low life would here it want your stuff and come looking for you. Heck to be honest the sling or the slingshot (wrist rocket type) might even have a place though maybe not the critters your hunting for chow most often are thinking the same about you heh.Posts: 3375 Joined: Thu Mar 15, 2007 9:25 am.

But again, with the presumably lower DP, im still sticking with my 'hardcoe Only' suggestion.:yucky:Posts: 3395 Joined: Thu Nov 09, 2006 9:07 pm.
Whilst i'd rather say no to this considering the year the game is set in, and the fact that it has futurisic EW weapons,I'd have to say why the hell not? After all, the legion do insist on using machetes and throwing spears as their most common weapons. And lets not forget, that the best part of the other half of the game insists on making the game so heavily based around and full of LA and cowboy style weapons!
Why not:yes:If there were a slightly modern/futuristic variant made from an alloy of some sort with a plasma or laser tip, increased power from technology, That'd be cool. But a basic bow or X-bow which people can manufacture by being resourseful would have little effect on power armour. Hunting deathclaws with a compound bow would put a spin on the gameplay thoughPosts: 3456 Joined: Thu Aug 31, 2006 7:06 pm.

Though for weapons that are pre-Divergence (meaning they existed IRL before the 1950s, as is the case with literally every WWII weapon) or already canon (e.g the P90, G3, G11, and AR/AK series of rifles), there's a fairly easy argument to be made that they're all lore-friendly additions. The Mosin in particular is literally the most common military-surplus bolt-action rifle, with something like 17 MILLION in existence and 12-rifle crates popping up for sale regularly (they're cheap as hell too - $2-300 per gun is average, with $4-500 being high or a rip-off depending on the specific markings on the gun), so it's frankly rather laughable to think there wouldn't be a couple floating around in post-nuke America.

Hey you, yeah you, are you looking for Weapon mods, but you think they’re all not lore friendly and thus ruin the immersion? Or are you just looking for some spicy new Weapons? Well, look no further, because I made a list of the lore friendly Weapon mods I use. I will provide links to each an every one of them and a small description/reasoning, why they are lore friendly in my eyes. There will be weapons that have existed in previous Fallouts, but most of the mods featured in this list are weapons, that would have made sense if they were in the vanilla game and fit in with the lore of fallout quite nicely.
(So no G36 or AR14 or modern stuff) Enjoy!NOTE: Some might not agree with my reasoning. This is my personal list, and I really enjoy playing with it. NOTE 2: If you have a suggestion for another lore friendly weapon mod, feel free to add them in the comments below.
Weapon Mods ListSo let’s get to it:10mm SMG – The 10mm SMG is a fairly good early game weapon and has some good mods. It has been seen in previous Fallout games.9mm Pistol (Browning Hi-Power) Redux – The 9mm pistol from Fallout NV. A nice looking alternative to the 10mm pistol. Has own mods and Legendary variants.CROSS Break-Action Laser – Now this weapon didn’t exist in previous fallout games, but hear me out. It is a very nice Weapon mod, with good textures and a lot of mods. It holds true to the look of fallout Laser Weapons and fits in seemlessly with the other Laser Weapons.
Can be Used as Sniper, Shotgun or A gun that shoots Energy balls, that can optionally be modded to explode.Crude Blowback – One of the only makeshift weapon mods in Fallout 4. Basically a better looking alternative to the Pipe Weapons.DKS-501 Sniper Rifle – The Sniper Rifle from Fallout3 and NV. Awesome textures and nice customization. A must have Sniper Rifle.Handmade Anti-Materiel Rifle – Another one of these makeshift weapons, very nice piece and a very strong one as well.Lee Enfield – A very good-looking weapon from the Real life world. An old model, but a beautiful Rifle for sure. There are two different mods that add the lee enfield.
Choose to your hearts content.M1 Garand – Another one of those beautiful 20th century Rifles. What I like about this one (in other games as well) is that it is a semi-automatic Rifle, so you don’t have to load a shot everytime you take one.
And OMG I love the reload sound. CLINNNNNNNNGMauser Pistol – We’re getting to the real world classics now, are we.
The mauser Pistol is a nice WWI weapon. This weapon has nice textures and comparable damage to a 10mm (also uses 10mm ammo)Mosin Nagant – Another one.
And old WWI classic sniper rifle. Deals good damage early game. Has good Textures and feels really nice to use.MP40 – Another WWI weapon, this time an machine gun and a really strong one for sure. Also comes with the experimental doublebarrel version, that is really good late game.R91 Assault Rifle – The Assault rifle as seen in Fallout 3 and NV.
Has very nice sounds and cool mods. (also comes with a more modern version)Chinese Assault Rifle – The counterpart to the Assault Rifle from Fallout 3. Very nice textures and high customizabilityService Rifle – As used by the NCR in Fallout NV.
One of my favourite weapons from that game. These two different mods both add a Service Rifle, although Deadpool2099s (second link) isn’t quite finished yet, but looks like it is going to be awesome once it is finished.Laser Rifles: AER14, AER12 and AER11 – Prototypes of Laser Rifles from Fallout NV. Can be crafted at Weapon Workbench out of any regular Laser Weapon. I love these, because the laser weapons are one of my favourite weapon types from the Fallout Universe.Laser RCW – The Laser RCW from Fallout NV. Looks like a Submachine gun with a Laser Capacitor.
Is often carried by thugs with fancy Suits (Skinny Malones Gang)Wattz Laser Gun/Rifle – Probably my favourite mod from this list. Very beautiful Detailed Rifle or Gun inspired by the Wattz Gun from Fallout NV. It has such awesome Textures and Customizations. Its a must-have definitely.
I use it as a sniper in my sniper build character. Can also be used as a Shotgun or Normal Rifle/Pistol.Colt 1911 – A neat pistol, comparable to the 9mm Pistol. A classic from the 20th Century and it is still used today. A solid weapon, with cool sounds. But I prefer the 9mm.So that’s my list of lore-friendly Weapon mods, if you want to add anything, comment it below and I’m looking forward to putting them into my list. Hope I could help you. Have a nice day and a radiating future.
Fallout New Vegas Weapons
ContributionsLAER from Old World BluesBozar from New VegasAlien Assault Rifle (questionable lore-friendliness but a well made and balanced mod)Crossbows of the CommonwealthPlasma Carbine Barrel (a weapon mod rather than an entirely new gun, which adds a ‘long barrel’ variant for plasma guns – I found it very useful for my energy weapons character!)– Continuation of discussion.
Fallout New Vegas Mosin Nagant
It polishes the game up a little and makes the game a bit more serious. Think of it as a director's cut.JSawyer is a personal modification created by project director Joshua Eric Sawyer for those willing to experience a harder, more challenging Fallout: New Vegas and was released on December 29, 2011. It also includes several technical fixes and tweaks (particularly to the Karma system), that were not included in previous patches. While it is considered unofficial by its creator, it does provide insight into the aims of the lead developer and contains planned tweaks that never made it into the final release or in official patches.
